Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

 

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is centered on equity and takes a student-centered approach to learning. Beaumont USD partners with AVID to receive ongoing professional development and support to integrate strategies that enhance and accelerate student learning while focusing on college and career readiness.

 

Beaumont Middle College High School implements AVID strategies school-wide along with offering AVID elective courses to all students enrolled. Our teachers will continue to focus on WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) Strategies, while emphasizing writing and reading.

 

The AVID approach is in alignment with our college and career readiness initiative to prepare student for their post secondary goals.
